Moana Themed Camp
5:30 -7:00 PM
Let’s face it. The dancers that are ages 2-5 are absolutely the most adorable, no contest. These students are always showstoppers in our performances, as they wow the audience with their surprisingly sassy (and sometimes charmingly shy) personalities, their ability to dance and shout the lyrics to a song, and their ridiculously cute and flouncy tutus. We love to celebrate our mini dancers here at Bowman Dance Company & School, which is why our Moana Dance Camp is going to be so much fun!
Your dancer will explore Polynesian culture with Disney’s beloved Pacific Islander Princess. In this week-long adventure, dancers will escape to the tropical corners of their imagination, sing along with their favorite new Disney Classics, create fun Moana-inspired arts and crafts, and learn brand new dance steps, including the basics of Polynesian dance!
By the end of the week, you’ll agree that there’s just no telling how far your dancer will go. What can we say except you’re welcome...
Leap Themed Camp
6:00 - 8:00 PM
When Leap! was released in 2016, dance instructors everywhere were so thrilled, because the film partners non-fiction dance history with a fantastical and inspiring fictional story that beautifully captures the feeling of what it’s like to be in love with dance. We hope that this movie will serve as a springboard for creativity and imagination during our Leap! camp for dancers ages 6-11.
Your dancer will enter the mysterious and beautiful world of Paris in the 19th century, right at the height of The Paris Opera Ballet’s rise to success. During this week-long departure to the City of Lights, students will brush up on their French ballet terminology and dance history knowledge, design exquisite crafts, and dance the evenings away with a sampling of all styles of dance offered at BDCS including ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, and acro. p, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, and acro.
The Greatest Showman Workshop
6:00 - 9:00 PM
Prepare to enter into the spectacular world of show-life. Spotlights beam down on glittery costumes. The air is thick with the scent of warm hard boiled peanuts and sugary clouds of cotton candy. The audience is on their feet, and music envelops the room and sends electric shocks of anticipation through your veins. There’s nothing left to do but dance.
Students will celebrate the fantastical circus, as portrayed in the new musical hit, The Greatest Showman. With an emphasis given on acrobatics, musical theater, hip-hop, and jazz dance, your dancer will leave the week feeling inspired and more confident. The possibility for fun is exponential, and our teachers are hard at work preparing crafts, choreography, and the incorporation of musical elements that will challenge and motivate dancers of all levels.
As the greatest showman P.T. Barnum famously said, “The noblest art is that of making others happy.” We hope you’ll join us for a week of joy and laughter!
